Obituary of Blair Curtis Stankowski

Please share a memory of Blair to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Blair was a devoted father to his sons and an obedient child to his mother.  He was a good dad who encouraged his boys to be the best version of themselves.

He was like a mother to his young siblings, making them breakfast for example.

Blair was a good listener, helping friends through university.

As a teacher, he helped a student through their darkest hours and this student nominated him for an award.

He was very giving and helpful - he defined himself through his career as a teacher and then a school administrator.  He coached all the sports (except basketball).

Blair was very active in his parish (St Albert the Great, Calgary) with involvement in the Hospitality and Eucharistic ministries.

He played the guitar with the choir.  Blair taught himself to play several instruments.

In the early days of St Albert the Great parish, he was on the Baptismal team and helped turn the sod before the construction of the new church.

He was a devoted Servant (Calgary)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Blair Stankowski in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at the age of 50.  Blair was a principal with the Calgary Catholic School District.

He is survived by his mother Pauline (and the late Frank Stankowski); and sons Bret and Colton, their mother Connie and brothers Dwayne and Ivan (Rhonda).

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish (10 Prestwick Drive SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, August 28, 2017, at 3:00 pm.
