Obituary of David Thomas

David Clayton Thomas was born in Nipawin, SK. to Angus and Hilda ‘Isabelle’ Thomas.  He had 10 children, Cheyenne Thomas, Austin Munroe-Thomas, Chaniece Thomas, Keenan Munroe-Thomas, Morgan Thomas, Kineesha Hotomani, Kyra Hotomani, Kaleb Hotomani, Kenyon Hotomani, and Kerwin Hotomani; and 3 grandchildren, Nightsong Marie Armstrong, Beverly Shingoose, and Luka Hotomani.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping with his Grandpa Cheechegan in Cumberland House, Saskatchewan.  His friends and family called him ‘Cheech’.  We will all love and miss him dearly.  David loved to spend his days singing karaoke, dancing, and joking around with all of his children, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. David was always the story-teller at every family gathering.  He loved to share his stories and he was also a good listener to those who shared their stories.  Those times we shared with Cheech will forever be missed, loved, and cherished for life.  All of those who knew David, knew him as a down to earth, kind, caring, and big-hearted man.  He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it and would open his home to those in need of a safe place to go for a meal or shelter for the night.  He would go out of his way to make you feel comfortable, as if it was your own home.  David had such a big heart and always wanted to help in anyway he could.  He also never wanted anything in return, but to see those he loved and cared for happy, healthy, and succeeding in life.

David is predeceased by his grandparents, John and Nancy Thomas, and David and Alice Goulet; father, Angus Churchill Thomas; grandchild, Nightsong Marie Armstrong; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too many to be named.

David is survived by his mother, Hilda ‘Isabelle’ Thomas; siblings, April Thomas (Lawrence), Lisa Thomas (Quentin), Cameron Thomas, and Troy Constant (Gaelyn); children, Cheyenne Thomas, Austin Munroe-Thomas, Chaniese Thomas, Keenan Munroe-Thomas, Morgan Thomas, Kineesha Hotomani, Kyra Hotomani, Kaleb Hotomani, Kenyon Hotomani, and Kerwin H0tomani; and grandchildren, Beverly Shingoose and Luka Hotomani.
