Obituary of Connie Baraniski

Please share a memory of Connie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Constance Irene Baraniski, was born to Leo and Marie Baraniski. She was raised on a farm in the Petaigan area approximately 16 miles north of Carrot River.

She attended school in Carrot River, and played in many sports like track and field, ball, curling and even basketball. She loved hurdling and seemed to have many bruised knees doing this.  In basketball she was a good guard and good at dribbling, she loved to use her elbows.

In 1988 Connie met Jeff Boxall and they put on many miles travelling and watching curling. In 1990 Connie and Jeff had a son Jonathon (Jon) who became the centre of the Boxall family. They lived on the Boxall farm and raised Jon there in his early years, and later moved to Nipawin when Jon became active in hockey. Life around the curling rink changed to life around the hockey rink.

Connie started at Pineview Lodge in 1991.  She started out as a CCA for the first portion of her career but the job was hard on her back so she transferred into the Recreation department. She loved to be part of the hustle and bustle. She was able to organize functions, be in the garden, help with the cooking events and most of all she had the opportunity to utilize her decorating skills. She loved to decorate so much she wanted to redecorate her hospital room. She said the color was awful. Red was her color and everything had to have a touch of bling she always said. If you asked her to decorate, she took the reins and ran with it. You never had to worry that it would be plain. She was in charge and everyone knew it.

In 2015 Connie met Paul Collins, her mushroom picking partner.  They spent hours in the woods and hauled many pails, and hand made sacks carrying those mushrooms out. Connie and Paul travelled to Mexico and had many fun times with a new love for the sand, sea and salt.

Connie loved to garden, she had a passion to grow beautiful flowers and had flowers in every corner of her yard and so so many pots. Her yard and her campsite were beautifully decorated.

Connie leaves to mourn Paul Collins, her son Jonathon Boxall (Karla Hayworth) sisters Brenda (Clint), Joan (Tim), brothers Bryan and Dean. Nieces Kali (Paul) and Samatha (Brandon), nephews Justin, Tyson (Ashley), Riley (Jocelyn), Brady, Carter and Tegan. Shirley Baraniski and Tamara Baraniski.

Connie was pre-deceased by her father Leo, her mother Marie, brothers Allan, Clinton and Carmen and Jeff Boxall.

Connie will be sadly missed by all, her spit fire attitude, big smile, little giggles and her willingness to pitch in and help whenever needed. Rest in Peace Connie we will cherish the memories and hold you close in our hearts forever❤️
