Obituary of Beverly Allchin

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beverly John Allchin

Bev was born in Tisdale to Clifton and Edith Allchin, the fifth child of seven. He attended Waterfield School for Grades 1 through 8. He worked for several years for a local farmer as a hired hand then returned home to work with his younger brothers on the family farm until they married.

He ran the family farm in the Armley area with his mother until her death. He then managed the farm alone until he decided to rent out his land to neighbours.  Bev enjoyed many sports and was a good ball player known for home runs! He was also known for his slap shots as a strong hockey player. Many evenings were spent with his brothers and cousins playing crokinole.

Bev’s last few years were spent with his nephew Duane in Lloydminster, where many special occasions were spent surrounded by family and friends. In 2023 Bev became a resident at Lakeland Lodge in St. Walburg, Sask. It was here that he enjoyed going on outings, eating pink popcorn and chatting with the wonderful staff.

Bev was predeceased by his parents and siblings: Shirley, Wilfred, Laurence and Dennis (in childhood).

Bev is survived by his younger brothers Gilbert (Myrna) and Neil (Gloria) and by many nieces and nephews.
