Obituary of Ross McClintick
Please share a memory of Ross to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ross Henry McClintick was born the eldest child of Arthur and Loretta McClintick at the Nipawin Hospital. He grew up on a farm 12 miles northeast of White Fox. He had one brother William (deceased) and five sisters, Shirley, Diane, Fern, Elva, and Mary Ann. Ross passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan 14th, 2026.
At about the time he was to start school, Ross and his brother Willie were taken by their parents to the Valley View Centre in Moose Jaw where they lived for several years.
They were later relocated to North Park Center in Prince Albert which was closer to home so their parents were able to visit more (especially on Fathers Days). Ross lost both his parents, Mother in 1993 and Father in 1998. He really missed them both but was lucky to still have family in Nipawin that he saw often and sisters who kept in touch with him.
When North Park closed down Ross and his brother moved to Nipawin. Ross first lived in a group home on Watson Crescent, then moved to another one on Center Street, and finally moved in to the new group home on 5th Street North when it was built. He sure moved around lots but when he settled in at 5th Street with his Handiworks family he called it home for the rest of his days. It is a very nice home and he was quite comfortable there.
Ross worked at Handiworks but was retired for the last few years. Ross enjoyed outings and shopping. He enjoyed watching his old movies and spending time with his housemates. He also liked helping staff whenever possible; like helping find lost things. Once he helped them find their pay cheques that someone had put in the garbage (they were very happy about that).
Ross enjoyed working at Handiworks and living at the group home. He gave great hugs and sometimes would get so emotional when he hadn’t seen people for a while that he would tear up. Handiworks’ role was to enrich his life but he enriched all of ours in so many more ways.
