Obituary of Barry Benedict McLeod

Barry Benedict McLeod was born April 14, 1951 in Cumberland House. He married his sweetheart Elaine Goulet on March 20, 1993. They lived a quiet life enjoying each others company.  They loved dancing together; Barry would take up the whole dance floor and he had some good moves. As a young man, he worked as a Forestry Logger, Fence Post Cutter and as a Guide for his good friend Robert McKay. Barry may not have shown it, but he was very proud of his children and grandchildren and loved them very much. Barry wasn’t one to show affection, but he always made sure his family knew they were loved. He was always happy to see his few siblings. There were plenty of arguments, but at the end of the day, they always forgave each other. Barry loved singing. A funny story was when he’d go to his mom’s house, his niece Wendi would always ask him to sing. They would sit on the couch together or at the kitchen table. He’d start singing and his mom Helen would yell at them “Wendi get in the room and Barry danipa (Go sleep).” Barry had a very close bond with his Mom and took care of her for many years until she moved into the seniors complex but even after he always made sure she had what she needed.

He will be missed by his family and friends, especially his wife.
