To Eugene’s family,
My sympathy to everyone. Eugene would always ask about my dad- Edward Shulver. I believe that the couples square danced together.
Sincerely,
Darlene Shulver Thompson

Sadness yes, when a dad leaves us to remember him as he was, and our joy can come from knowing who he now is with at this moment...blessed be the Lord that gives us this Hope.
It is said that a father can be known by his children. Of the 5, I went to school with 3 of them; Brian the older in my brothers grade, Geraldine (so smart in math) in my grade, and the younger Dennis. These 3 kids as I remember them, were very likeable, honest, very well respected kids in school known for their hard work at home. I believe it was a reflection of their parents, and in this season of time, their Dad.
I remember some of the talk in the Ukrainian community of my grandparents, the name Eugene McFarlane would come up; it was with honour and respect for the man, the exact details of why I am not sure now, as years have faded my memories; however said, whether it was a one time event or multiple events, Mr. McFarlane stood up in front of the Authorities supporting vehemently for the rights of a Ukrainian Canadian from that community, who was being mistreated by the Government Authority....in those days prejudice was common against immigrants....This event or multiple events won the respect my grandparent's Ukrainian Community had and as I share this, still have in my shared memory of your Dad, your Dad .....Brian, Geraldine and Dennis....be blessed you kids.

My most sincere condolences for your painful loss.
Death is without a doubt a very cruel enemy that attacks us all equally.
I imagine mr. Eugene was a person very loved and respected by his family, who must be deeply saddened by his death, but the Bible gives us a message of comfort.
In Isaiah 25: 8 it says: “He will remove death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe the tears from all faces. He will remove from all the earth the dishonor of his people, because Jehovah himself has said so.”
How beautiful will be the day when death will be resurrected and we can see again our loved ones who have passed away.
Have a nice day and that the family does not know of sorrows.
In the link I leave you a beautiful video called: “Is there hope for the Dead.”
