Obituary of Meriel Erma Settee

Meriel (Merle) Erma Settee was born in March, 1968 in Cumberland House to William and Margaret Settee. Merle received her education in Cumberland House at Charlebois Community School until moving to Johnny Stewart Memorial School on the reserve. Merle was a kind, gentle, caring, loving person; traits that she lived by, passed on by her mom Margaret and her grandfather Alex (little) Morin. She was a hard worker; she loved cleaning homes for anyone who would ask her. She helped out in anyway she could with what little she had. Merle was very family oriented, daily she would make her rounds visiting her grandkids, kids, and her siblings. She was a good friend to many and was accepting to everyone. Merle loved playing cards, bingo, and watching baseball. Merle passed on peacefully with her sisters Sandra, Delores and Patricia by her side at Nipawin Hospital on August 4, 2020 at 5:22pm. Merle leaves to mourn her Children: Lester Settee, Katherine (Lawrence) Settee, Robert (Summer) Severight, and Paul Severight; Her Grandchildren: twins Shaun and Shane, Tahlon, Elijah, Larayah, Lyra, Antoine, Caleb, Caden, Creena; her Sisters: Myrtle Stewart, Sandra (Brad) Ratzlaff, Delores(Earl) Settee-Crane, Patricia(Leon) Flett, Helen Cook; her Brothers: Barney Settee, Roderick Settee; Brother-in-law Joe Cook; Nieces: Clarissa, Robyn, Ericka, Deirdra, Diandra, Alyssya, Natasha, Alexis, Raven, Margaret, Priscilla, Crystal and Charlene; Nephews: Joey, Tom, Clayton, Sherman, Terence, Derek, Ricky, Darrell, Darnell, Desmond, Isaiah, Norman, Adrian, and Billy. Merle was predeceased by her Parents William and Margaret Settee; her Brothers: Lester Settee and George Laliberte; her Sister: Flora Cook; Sister-in-law: Gloria Settee; her still born sister, and her grandbaby lost through miscarriage; her Maternal Grandparents: Alex(little) and Julia Morin; Paternal Grandparents: Thomas and Adelaide Settee; Her Aunts and Uncles: Douglas and Charlotte Settee, J.B. and Alice Settee, Roderick and Mariam Settee, Pierre and Marie Louise Settee, Paul Settee, Alex Settee, Frank and Agnes Laliberte, Margaret Fosseneuve, Alphonse Morin, and David Morin; and her Nephew Peter B. Ratzlaff.
