Obituary of Dagny Edith Watts
Please share a memory of Dagny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dagny Edith (Kronqvist) Watts was born in Shellbrook, Sk in
July, 1931, the oldest daughter of Art & Greta Kronqvist. She took her schooling at Timerland Country School near Leoville, where she obtained her grade 8 education. She then moved to Alberta where she met her future partner Gerald (Gerry) Watts.
Gerry & Dagny moved to Unity, Sk in 1953. Their next moves took them to Smoky Burn and then to Carrot River, where Dagny did a variety of janitor work at businesses and homes. Her passion for children led her to take on childcare in her own home for many years.
A move in 1990 took Gerry & Dagny to Lloydminster where they managed two apartment complexes for 5 years. In 1995, they retired in Carrot River, where Dagny continued her past times of jigsaw puzzles, card games, bingo, long walks with their dog, weeding gardens and long drives.
One thing Dagny enjoyed was socializing with friends & family, especially having drinks with her grandchildren that sometimes led to mischief & mayhem!! These episodes always brought out the fun in her.
As the family grew and the great grandchildren came, Dagny experienced even more joy & pride, visible in her smiles and they way her eyes lit up.
Dagny is lovingly remembered by her children: Judy, Joan, Janet, Joe and their families; her’s and Gerry’s daughters: Wanda (Donald) Flowerday, and Debbie (Brian) Findlay; her grandchildren: Charity Flowerday (Dave Birch), Tyler Flowerday, Barrett Flowerday, Tamsen (Logan) Skinner, Gerren (Ken) Smart, and Brynn Findlay; her great-grandchildren: Klara, Emily, and Keegan Birch, James Stirling, Hailey Flowerday, Brielle & Jayce Skinner, Finn Smart, and Kyler Findlay; one sister in law, Trudy Kronqvist; & numerous nieces & nephews.
