Joe and Frances Ruda were proud to announce the birth of their only daughter Mary Theresa Newton on the family farm. Mary and her brothers Joe, Frank, Charlie, and Ralph grew up on the family farm in Sunnybrook School District and later, in the Silver Pine School District. Mary attended school in the Sunnybrook and Silver Pine Schools, junior high was via correspondence. Mary attended and graduated Grade 12 from Carrot River High School. Mary married Art Newton in 1942 in Nipawin, SK. Mary and Art had four daughters - Frances, Shirley, Jean and Bonnie. Mary was a medical secretary in Carrot River and a gravel checker for the RM of Moose Range. She also worked in the food service industry as waitress/cook. Her hobbies and interests were astounding - from gardening, berry picking, creating art, writing poems and short stories, riding horseback, rodeo, sewing... the list of her creative interests and abilities were endless. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Frances Ruda; her brothers, Joe, Frank, Charlie, and Ralph; her husband, Art; her daughter, Frances; her sons-in-law, Gordon Anderson and Ralph Beriault; her granddaughter BJ Beriault; her grandson Devin Seguin; and many good friends. Mary will be remembered with great love and respect by her daughters Shirley, Jean, and Bonnie (Brad Shutiak); her grandkids; great grandkids and great-great grandkids.
