Obituary of William Pihowich

William (Bill) Pihowich was born on the farm near Sheho, Saskatchewan in April, 1933, son of Frank and Mary (Gulka). He grew up with seven sisters: Anne, Nellie, Rose, Natalie, Adella, Olga and Molly.
Bill moved to Nipawin in 1943 when he was ten years old and attended school until the age of fourteen, at which time he started farming with his dad Frank. Bill acquired his first quarter of land in 1951.
Bill married the love of his life Mary Krywulak on June 12, 1955 and they recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. Together they raised a family of six and farmed together until they retired in 1998. Along with his success of farming, Bill enjoyed singing, his singing will always be remembered.
In his retirement Bill enjoyed gardening and travelling with his wife to visit their children who lived in many places like the Yukon, Nebraska, Ontario, California, British Columbia, Alberta and Washington just to name a few.
Bill was always involved in the church and community. He served on the Building Committee for the All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Church and as President. He is a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was also a delegate with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary. His brother John (2 years of age), his sisters Anne (Jim) Derkach, Nellie (Steve) Zadorozny, Rose (Ladmer) Kozun, Carl Zazuluk, Adella (Eugene) Hrapchak.
Left to cherish Bill’s memory is his loving wife Mary; sisters Natilie Zazulak, Olga Mazurkewich, Molly (Victor) Garchinski; his children Brian (Cynthia), granddaughter Danielle and grandson Brennan; Bruce (Brenda) granddaughter Amber (Pete) Gillespie, great grandson Leo, grandson Kahlen (Nikki), grandson Keaten (Abbey), great grandsons Curen and Ryder; Barry (Sandy) granddaughters Sarah and Haley; Brent (Camille); Michelle (Kevin) Foster, granddaughters Megan (Joshua) and Nicole; Marcy (Larry) Chorney, grandsons Chase and Nash; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
