Obituary of Charlene Holmes
It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Charlene Holmes. Charlene was born in June 1947, and passed away on April 25, 2023. Charlene was the daughter of Arthur and Maxine Holmes.
Charlene grew up on a farm just outside of Tisdale. She completed her education and moved to Regina where she spent many years working for the Saskatchewan government at the liquor board store. She very much enjoyed her work there. She transferred to Nipawin where she finished up her career. Ill health required Charlene
to be hospitalized the last while and she passed away in long-term care.
Charlene enjoyed animals of all kinds. She especially loved dogs and horses. She also enjoyed her cabin at Tobin Lake and getting to know her neighbors.
Liz and Clarence Heller were long time friends of Charlene having known her for over 45 years. They were more like family to her than friends. Norma & Ron Holaday were good friends from Tobin Lake who helped her at her cabin at the lake and in Tisdale for many years. Christine & Tim Taylor, originally Charlene’s homecare worker in Tisdale, became another close friend to Charlene and helper in so much after her decline in health.
Charlene was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Maxine Holmes; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her cousins: Margery (Lorne) Sinclair, Bud (Judy) Holmes, Lorraine (Lloyd) Larson, Dorothy (Wilbert) Holmgren, Sam (Sandi) Holmes, Arthur (Shelley) Holmes and Denver (Linda) Cross; and several close friends.
May God bless her memory.
