Eda Wilburn

Obituary of Eda Wilburn

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eda Mary Wilburn on May 26, 2024.

The second child of Mary and Harry Seaman was born in August 953 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. Eda attended school in Choiceland, where she met the love of her life, Kim Wilburn, who she married in 1971. Shortly after, they moved to Edmonton, Alberta and then moved back to Saskatchewan in 1974 to live in Garrick. In 1978 they built their home in Choiceland, after which, they moved to the farm in 1985. It wasn’t until 2020 that they sold their farm and moved back to their home in Choiceland. Together they had three children; Clint, Christine, and Cathie.

Eda started working at the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1979, where she worked until her retirement in 2013. Eda and Kim bought F.A.T.S Camp in November of 2005. For eighteen years they lovingly poured their heart and soul into the camp as it wasn’t seen as a job, but as a passion. From October to March, they would spend their time together in Mesa, Arizona, where they attended baseball games, hockey games, and entertained family that came down to visit. However, her favorite place to be was the cabin at Maynard Lake; where many memories were made with friends and family. Eda was blessed with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; all of whom brought immense joy to her life and often visited the camp where they created cherished memories together. Eda enjoyed curling, fishing, watching sports, and making slippers and gloves. By far, her most endearing quality was her unwavering kindness, which touched everyone she met.

Her memory will be carried on by her family: husband, Kim Wilburn; three children: Clint (Marie) Wilburn, Christine (Rick) Black, Cathie (Colin) Willness; seven grandchildren: Delane (Carmen) Wilburn, Morgan (Adam) Betteridge, Whitney Willness, Spencer (Anna) Black, Lane (Demi) Wilburn, Cori Willness, Cali (Jordan) Willness; five great-grandchildren: Elsie Willness, Oakley Wilburn, Jeannie Wilburn, Maeson and Ashter Stevenson; sister, Linda Scott; and nephew, Robbie Scott.

Eda was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Mary Seaman; her brother-in-law John Scott; and two nephews, Joe, and Gary Scott.
