Obituary of Sonia Rozilie Abar

Sonia was born March 17th, 1946 in North Battleford, SK to Mike and Stella Gudzak. She was the youngest of three daughters, following her sisters Margaret and Angeline. They grew up on the family farm south of White Fox, where Sonia also received her education.
Sonia met Keith Abar and they dated for a few years. They married July 2nd, 1966 at the United Church in Nipawin, SK. Sonia was soon blessed with two children, Melanie and Aaron. Sonia was employed at Richardson’s and also as a bookkeeper & secretary at Northland Autobody for many years. She then worked for Lowes Janitorial then on to CJ’s & Duplex Furniture stores.
Sonia volunteered at Weight Watchers, Brownie’s & Guides and Beavers & Scouts. She also spent many volunteer hours in the canteen at the Nipawin Arena. Sonia’s hobbies included camping, planting flowers, bowling, bingo, reading, and baking.
She was predeceased by her mom & Dad (Mike & Stella Gudzak) and her sister Margaret Corrigan. Sonia is survived by her husband Keith Abar, daughter Melanie (Tom) Pashko, son Aaron (Barb) Abar, sister Angeline (Brian) Johnson, grandson Cody Bradshaw (Jenna Obleman), granddaughter Jessica (Ryan) Zuidema, step-grandsons Brennon & Mathew Lowery, stepdaughter Amberlyn Lowery (Kurt Bloomfield) step great-granddaughter Aubree-lyn Emma Rose Bloomfield as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
