Obituary of Anita Rodier
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our mother Anita Rodier (nee Roy). She passed away peacefully in her bed at the age of 95 years old, on September 25, 2024, at the Arborfield Special Care Lodge.
Anita was born in Kénogomi, Quebec in October, 1928, to Charles and Marie Roy. She lived in Quebec until the age of 8 years old, when her family moved west to Zenon Park, Saskatchewan. At the age of 22 years old, she met Raymond Rodier and six short weeks later, they were married. Together they farmed land in Arborfield and went on to have 10 children, 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Anita and Ray enjoyed dancing, curling and the Arborfield Fall suppers. They were both very active members in their community and church.
She lived on the farm in Arborfield until 1983, when she moved to Nipawin where she lived for nearly 40 years. In 1993, Anita was remarried to Welton (Buck) Stuart, who later passed away in 2015. They spent many years gardening in the backyard and cruising with her family.
Anita will be remembered by her family and friends as an avid quilter, making quilts for all her children and grandchildren. She loved to play cards with her senior friends, and in the quiet hours you could find her leaning over a puzzle, drinking a cup of coffee.
Anita was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Rodier and Welton (Buck) Stuart; and her sons: Peter Rodier, Louis Rodier, Francis (Pat) Rodier and Bob (Judy) Rodier.
She is survived by her children: Henri (Yvette) Rodier, Gerry (Bernie) Rodier, Diann (Lionel) Pellerin, Jackie (Glenn) Randall, Colette (Mike) Peoples, and Rayanne Rodier; and her sister, Claire Chevrier.
We love you and will miss you.
