Obituary of Victor Chaboyer
Victor Joseph Chaboyer “Casper”. Casper got his nickname from his grandpa Victor. He was sitting on the table in his baby chair and his grandpa was walking by him. He stopped and looked at him and said “awpum mitoni Casper the Ghost”. From that day everyone called him Casper. Right from a young age Casper befriended everyone, he was so friendly so the name suited him Casper the Friendly Ghost. When Casper was born his grandpa Gordon always made sure he had everything he needed. His grandpa Gordon always made his way to come check on Casper every day. When his grandpa Gordon was sent out before his 1st birthday, he told Lenor “you go to the Northern and get him everything for his birthday, my baby’s 1st birthday. He enjoyed all sports in high school he ran cross country running, he played hockey but he loved curling.
Casper had four brothers and three sisters, when they were younger he would hold his sister down and blow in their noses just to bug them. Him and his brothers would throw “gang” hand signs just to bug their mom. He loved it when all his nieces and nephews were at the house. He loved them so much he always had fun doing crazy things to them and just playing. When everyone would leave he’d walk around the house and he’d say “Mom/Dad it’s too quiet in here” He had a special place in his heart for his baby brother and baby sister. When he got his money he surprised his baby brother Bert with a quad for his birthday. He would take Serena to the store and get her whatever she wanted.
Casper’s passion was fishing, he could be on the river all day. If he had a choice he would have stayed upriver all summer. His friend Kayleigh Jobb said it best “That is when Casper was at peace, it was upriver fishing and it didn’t matter with who. All that mattered was he was out and about on the lake. I saw it in his face and his eyes and heard it in his voice, when we were upriver fishing together. His voice was peaceful and his eyes lit up when there was a fish on the line even if he didn’t catch anything he was always happy to be out there”. He enjoyed spending time with his dad and bonding. It could either be fishing or even going to get a couple loads of wood. When they’d get home he’d help his dad cut and pile the wood. He’d also helped his dad around the house doing odd jobs.
Casper had a little girl Kaylynn Deschambeault. He didn’t want to disrupt her so he kept his distance. He loved her very much. He was always happy to see her and was so thankful for her wonderful parents Hughie & Sheila Deschambeault.
