Obituary of Anne Eliesabet Ens

Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anne Eliesabet (Wiebe) Ens was born March 20, 1928, at home to Jacob and Maria Wiebe.  She grew up on the farm and attended Murphy Creek School.  She had to walk 3 miles, one way, to school, 6 miles each day.

On March 25, 1951, she married Abram Ens, they were married for 59 years.  They farmed in the Murphy Creek area and raised 3 children.  Elaine, Edward, and Norman.  Anne loved her garden, if you went to visit her, you knew to check the garden first, you would rarely find her inside.  In 2007, they sold their house and land and moved to Nipawin.  Anne moved to Pineview Lodge in 2010.

Anne was a real pioneer and always worked very hard in every part of her life.  From home-cooked meals for the whole family to crafting decorations and quilts, everything she tackled, she started from scratch and took pride in her work.  Endurance, diligence, patience and kindness, these were the qualities she taught and instilled in her children and grandchildren.

Anne spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren, teaching them how to craft, playing board games, in the garden picking potato bugs, curling hair, sleepovers, and after-school visits.  She never missed anything for them, birthdays, school concerts, holidays, they were all so special to her.

Survived by her children, Elaine (Duane) Gage and Norman Ens; daughter-in-law Beverly Ens; grand and great-grandchildren: Jonathan Gage, Jana (Devon) Lewis (Olivia), Jerica (Glen) Sherry (Vanessa, Georgia), Leanne (Ryan) Martin (Braylen, Kyler, Aleaha), Amber (Jonathan) Yaffe (Mica, Akiva), Damon and Keaton Ens; in-laws: Edna McPherson, Helen Gilmour, Annette (Ed) White, Walter (Margaret) Ens, Tena Wiebe, and many nieces and nephews.

Anne was predeceased by her husband, Abram; her son, Edward; her sisters: Gertrude Harder, Olga Derkson, Elenora Wiebe, Mary Wiebe; her brothers: Abram Wiebe and John Wiebe; brothers-in-law: Peter Ens, Ken McPherson, Jack Gilmour; sisters-in-law: Tena (John) Reinke, Margaret (Abe) Teichreb.

Good-bye Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma, we miss you and will always love you.
