Obituary of William Reimer

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It’s with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Willie.  Willie was born February 2nd, 1933, to Abraham and Elizabeth Reimer at their home in the Teddington District.

Willie attended school at Teddington until he was 14 when he went to work in the bush with his Dad and Uncle John Reimer.  A few years later he started working for the Stensrud Brothers of Choiceland.  He also worked with his dad on the farm in the summer.

Willie married Eva on August 22nd, 1959.  In 1962 their son Gordon was born, and in 1964 their son Allan was born.

Willie and Eva lived in Gronlid prior to moving to Melfort.  In Melfort Willie owned and operated a Service Station until he joined Reliable Motors as an Auto Mechanic.  Willie became Service Manager at Reliable Motors where he stayed until the family moved to Nipawin in 1973.  Willie worked at C.S.P. until his retirement in 1995.

After retiring, Willie and Eva traveled extensively around Canada.  To occupy his time when not traveling Willie took up curling, old-time dancing, and working at the museum.

Willie and Eva were also avid Hawks fans as well.  He enjoyed the fall when he was able to run combine for the Maxwell Family.  He did this for many years until his health forced him to retire again.

Willie’s bright smile and fun-loving personality will be missed by all who knew him.

Will was predeceased by his parents, infant granddaughter Emily.

Willie is survived by his wife Eva, son Gordon (Jeanette), Eric, Matthew, Dominic, Carson, Carlee, Kevin, Michael, Leeann son Allan (Tonya) Hannah, Sammuel, Benjamin, brother Henry (Sandra) Reimer, sisters Lena (Steve) Miazga, Eva (George) Langridge and families.

It’s with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Willie.  Willie was born February 2nd, 1933, to Abraham and Elizabeth Reimer at their home in the Teddington District.
