Obituary of Edward Stanley Lukaszuk

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ed was born in Fosston and completed high school in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan. He completed Trades School for Locomotive Engineering. Ed worked for CN, CP, and VIA rail for 36.5 years.

Ed married his first wife Doreen McKay in 1965. They were together for 30 years. Through the course of their marriage they lived in Pikwitonei, The Pas, Livelong, Prince George, Atikokan, Hudson Bay and then in Canora for 19 years.Ed then went on to marry Lucy in 1997 and they lived in Canora, Hudson Bay, and Nipawin, Saskatchewan with their sons James and Jerold, and mother-in-law Anecita.

In retirement, Ed raised a loving family on an acreage outside of Hudson Bay in the dream house he built. He shared a love for gardening and the great outdoors; teaching the boys life skills in carpentry, hunting, fishing, and cooking. Ed and Lucy enjoyed hosting large socials for birthdays and various celebrations among family and friends.

He is predeceased by his mother (Frances Lukaszuk), father (Victor Lukaszuk), three brothers (Joseph, John, & Casmer), sister (Helen), and his first wife (Doreen Lukaszuk).

Left to treasure his memory are his sons (James & Jerold), second wife (Lucy Lukaszuk), mother-in-law (Anecita), 3 sisters (Anne, Wanda, & Jean), step siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed is remembered for his selflessness, patience, kindness, understanding, thoughtfulness, and respect for others.
