Dear Chester, Brent, Tricia and extended Family.
I first met Lyle in 1981-82 when he was a Trainer for the Nipawin Hawks and I was a player. I remember the size of him, but also his sense of humour and hard work around the rink and dressing room. He had an infectious giggle and a big smile most of the time.
I remember Lyle coming to the rink one day with a huge winter parka with a fur-lined hood. I was so impressed with it, I went to the same store in Nipawin and bought one for myself. I still have that parka and think of Lyle whenever I put it on.
It's so hard to lose a brother and son at any time. Our family had to endure the same loss of a brother over 15 years ago. We still miss Dean as you do Lyle. Both were good men who loved their families and gave generously to others and their community. Our gratitude for them is our commitment to follow their example and share stories about them with their kids.
May Lyle rest in peace and perpetual light shine upon him.
