Please share a memory of Vida to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vida (Moen) Lalonde passed away peacefully on February 6, 2022 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan with her family by her side.
Vida was born in September, 1931 near Chaplin, Saskatchewan to John and Alice Moen. Born as a twin, Vida was the oldest of 4 children. When she was seven years old, the family moved to Eldersley, SK where they farmed. After finishing grade school, Vida completed nursing school in Tisdale and then worked at the Tisdale hospital where she met the love of her life, Fred. They were married in Arborfield on July 9, 1952. They settled near Zenon Park where they began the family farm. After marrying, Vida gave up her nursing career to help with the farm and raise their family of four children: Raymond, Marlene, Della and Arthur. In her younger years, Vida kept very busy gardening, canning, sewing, baking, growing her beautiful flowers and taking care of her family. Vida also played a key role in their farming operation until their retirement in the early 80’s at which time they moved to Nipawin permanently. It was here that Vida really had the time to dedicate to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. During her retirement, Vida became very involved with the CWL and St. Eugene Catholic Church in Nipawin. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and anyone who stopped by for a visit. In July, 2021, Vida relocated to Caleb Village in Tisdale where she took up bridge and art classes.
Vida was predeceased by her parents: John and Alice Moen; her husband Fred; her son Marvin (died in infancy); her brother James; her sisters Viola and Cleaona.
